Garn and Gral Really Live Dangerously

“I don’t know why I let you talk me into these capers,” Gral grumbled to his sort-of-friend Garn.  “First, dinner with your Grandmother and now this.   I’m really getting too old to risk my life like this.”

“And I’m getting to old to listen to you complain,” Garn retorted.  “You live for danger.”

“Do not.”  Gral adjusted his mask and moved forward in line.  “That’s a lie!”

“Just last week, you wrestled a raging Grav-lox beast to the ground.”  Garn shuddered.  “Those things have foot-long fangs and spit venom.”

“That was a walk in the park compared to this.”

“And how about the week before, when we had to paraglide over a river of lava to retrieve Councilman Unda’s pet lizard?”

Gral rolled his eyes.  “We were perfectly safe.”

“My feet were dangling inches above the lava flow when you steered wrong.”

“Well – you still have both of them,” Gral scoffed.  “So, you’re fine.”

“Well, there’s nothing to be done.  We’re here on the council’s orders.”  Garn pulled a sheet of paper from his pocket. “So, we need a plan of attack.”

“I vote for that I keep a lookout at the door while you go in.”

“That’s not going to be the plan.”  Garn tore the paper in half.  “So, we’re almost to the head of the line.  I propose that I go for the chocolate and candy and you head to the chip and snacks section.”

Gral gaped when Garn handed him his half of the shopping list.  “There must be thirty items on here, and it’s all in bulk.  Do you know how heavy this is going to be?”

Garn patted his friend’s very large, muscle-bound arm.  “I know.  That’s why I brought you along – to carry things.”

“I hate you.”

“But just think of the brownie points we’ll win with the Council when we are able to satisfy their snack food cravings.”

And with that, Garn and Gral bravely entered the battlefield that is Costco on a Saturday morning.  Reports are that they survived the ordeal.

Happy Thursday, Friends!
