Garn the Magnificent wriggled his toes in the sand and closed his eyes as a gentle ocean breeze ruffled his hair.
“Ah! This is the life,” he thought as he took a sip of his delightfully fruity Earth drink – complete with a tiny umbrella perched near the rim of the glass.
It had been a stressful few months – with multiple trips in and out of a contagion-ridden planet. He was currently quarantined on Earth – again – with his sort of good friend Carol.
“But no matter,” he murmured appreciatively as he settled back into his lounge chair. He had the sun, the sand, and a large pitcher of frozen drinks – really everything he needed for a perfect tropical vacation.
However, his idyllic afternoon was soon disrupted by a horrific screeching sound.
“Garn!” There was the sound of loud, angry footsteps and then Carol popped into view. “What the heck are you doing?”
Garn adjusted his sunglasses and slid a little lower into his beach chair – in a futile attempt to block out his friend’s angry glare. “Just trying to enjoy a little sun,” he said lazily. “You should try it sometime – because you are really far too tense.”
Carol closed her eyes and her lips moved as she silently counted back from ten. “I’m all for a beach trip – to an actual beach,” she said through clenched teeth. “But did you really have to dump sand into the middle of my living room?”
Happy Thursday, Friends. I hope you’re enjoying your summer – safely 😊.
